Clash Erupts at 400-Year-Old Hanuman Temple in Fatehpur Over Land Dispute

The dispute over the land of the 400-year-old historical Hanuman Temple, located in the Chowk area of Fatehpur city, is escalating. On Sunday, this dispute turned into a violent clash when two sides confronted each other, accusing each other of encroachment. The situation worsened when a heated argument broke out between the two groups. Seeing the escalating dispute, women also took the lead and started raising slogans with placards in their hands.

Seeing the increasing tension in the temple complex, an atmosphere of chaos prevailed on the spot. Upon receiving the information, the police and administrative officials reached the spot with a large police force and brought the situation under control. The officials tried to calm the dispute by talking to both sides. During this time, a large number of people gathered in the temple complex, which also affected traffic in the area for some time.

Both Sides Claim Ownership of the Land

The dispute over the possession of the Hanuman Temple land has been going on for a long time. Ram Prakash Gupta, who is leading the first side, has claimed that he possesses all the documents related to the temple land. He also said that the temple committee was dissolved two years ago and no new committee has been formed since then. In such a situation, any construction work is illegal.

On the other hand, Pappan Rastogi, from the second side, identifying himself as an active member of the temple committee, said that he wants to construct a storage room and a market in the temple complex to enhance the grandeur of the temple. According to him, they are collecting donations from all sections of society for this. Manoj Gandhi, who is supporting this side, says that this land belongs to the Gandhi Baba family and they want to carry out development work in the temple with the cooperation of the society.

For now, the administration has started investigating the documents related to the land. Officials are assessing the legal status of the claims of both sides so that further action can be taken.

Administration Initiates Talks on Worship and Construction Work

Considering the seriousness of the situation, the district administration is monitoring the matter with full vigilance. Since both sides are socially b, the officials are currently refraining from making open statements on this issue. The DSP and SDM who reached the spot tried to reduce the tension by talking to both sides.

On behalf of the administration, talks have been initiated at different levels to restore worship in the temple and to reach an agreement on the proposed construction work. The officials are trying to reach an agreement between the two sides so that the dispute can be resolved peacefully and religious activities can be resumed without any disruption.
