Rain Forecast in Delhi-NCR
People in Delhi and NCR, who are waiting for rain amidst the humid heat, may get some relief on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light rain with b winds blowing at a speed of 40 kmph. However, there is little possibility of significant relief from humidity despite the rain. Besides Delhi, there are also indications of good rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand within the next 48 hours.
Alert for Torrential Rain in Uttar Pradesh
The weather pattern in Uttar Pradesh has completely changed. There is a possibility of heavy rain in some parts of western UP on July 20. At the same time, a warning of rain with thunder and lightning has also been issued in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall across the state from July 20 to July 22 and has advised people to be vigilant.
Heavy Rain Continues in Rajasthan
The monsoon remains active in several districts of Rajasthan. The highest rainfall of 234 mm was recorded in Nainwa (Bundi) in the last 24 hours. The depression over eastern Rajasthan is now moving towards the west, which is likely to cause more rain. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in many parts of the state on Sunday as well.
Waterlogging in Kerala, Traffic Affected
Many areas in the northern Kerala districts have been waterlogged due to continuous heavy rains for the past few days. Traffic has also been affected. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in Kasaragod, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Wayanad. According to officials, there have been no reports of any major damage or loss of life so far. An alert has also been issued for winds blowing at a speed of 40 kmph.
Red Alert Issued in Uttarakhand
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Heavy rain is expected in Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Sunday. Apart from this, an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for Dehradun, Tehri, and Pauri districts of the Garhwal region, as well as Bageshwar and Pithoragarh in Kumaon.
New System Forming in Bengal, Heavy Rain Expected
According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area is likely to form in the North Bay of Bengal around July 24. This may cause heavy rain in several districts of South Bengal next week. Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of North Bengal till July 22. From July 23, the rain will intensify in South Bengal.
