India Braces for Intense Monsoon: Floods, Landslides, and Heavy Rainfall Alerts Issued

The monsoon's impact has intensified in India. 22 districts in Uttar Pradesh are affected by floods, with the water levels of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers rising. Heavy rainfall continues in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the northeastern states. A heavy rainfall alert has also been issued for the coastal areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala.

Rain Alert: The monsoon season is actively underway across the country, and 22 districts in Uttar Pradesh are reeling under floods. The water level of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers is continuously rising, prompting local administration and the disaster management department to be on high alert. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert on Wednesday for heavy and continuous rainfall across the country.

The Meteorological Department has appealed to the public to avoid leaving their homes unless absolutely necessary and to avoid traveling near rivers, bridges, and sensitive areas. Heavy rainfall is expected in several states in the next few hours, which may disrupt public life and cause disruptions in road, rail, and water transport services.

Heavy Rainfall Threat in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh

Continuous rainfall has been occurring in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh since morning. In the Jammu district, 37 centimeters of rainfall has been recorded in the last 24 hours, and 28 centimeters in Katra. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The Meteorological Department has warned that road routes may be affected in these areas, and there is a risk of landslides in hilly regions. The local administration has implemented emergency measures and instructed the public to remain vigilant.

Heavy Rainfall Alert in the Northeast, Bihar, and Bengal 

A warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, and other northeastern states in the next few hours. The Meteorological Department has stated that people living near rivers, farmers, and the general public in these states need to remain vigilant.

22 districts of Uttar Pradesh are affected by floods, and the water level of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers is continuously rising. In Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as well, there is a need to exercise caution due to heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours. Especially in the lower areas of Chhattisgarh, the risk of waterlogging and emergency situations has increased.

Heavy Rainfall Alert in Konkan and Western India

Very heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan and Central Maharashtra in the next 24 hours. In addition, there is a possibility of waterlogging in Goa and surrounding coastal areas.

The effect of rain will also be seen in many parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rainfall may cause inconvenience in road and transport services, so local people are advised to remain vigilant and follow the instructions issued by the administration.

Heavy Rainfall Threat in Coastal Areas of South India

The coastal areas of Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh are also experiencing heavy rainfall. Especially in the coastal parts of Karnataka and Kerala, there is a risk of waterlogging, road blockages, and flooding due to heavy rains.

The Meteorological Department has warned that road travel, river crossings, and fishermen in coastal areas should be especially vigilant in these areas. The administration and disaster management team are constantly working on alert mode.
