This agreement was confirmed by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in a written response to a question asked in the Lok Sabha. He stated that the Ministry of Tourism has signed a non-commercial MoU with Netflix Entertainment Services India LLP. He added that the primary objective of this partnership is to promote India's tourist destinations globally through cinematic storytelling.

Under this, India's natural landscapes, cultural heritage, historical sites, and the unique identity of various states will be highlighted through content. This promotion will include several major and emerging tourist destinations across the country, including Gujarat.

'Incredible India' Brand to Gain New Strength

The government believes that this collaboration will take India's 'Incredible India' branding to new heights. This initiative will not only strengthen India's soft power but also present the country to the world as a modern, cultural, and diverse tourist destination.

This MoU is also expected to bring significant benefits to the film and entertainment industry. It will now encourage shooting in unexplored and less famous locations across different states of the country. Through web series and films, audiences will also get to know parts of India that have not yet prominently appeared on the tourism map.
