Kechi Dham in Nainital to Celebrate 61st Anniversary on June 15th.
Nainital News: The renowned Kechi Dham temple, situated in the Bhavali region of Nainital district, will celebrate its 61st anniversary on June 15th, 2025, with devotion and festivity. Established by Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj, this shrine has become a center of faith for millions of devotees, both in India and abroad. Thousands of devotees gather here annually, creating a celebratory atmosphere throughout the region.
The Significance of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj and Kechi Dham
Kechi Dham was founded by Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj in 1964. This location is considered a prominent center for spirituality and meditation. Baba's followers include notable figures such as former Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, who have sought inspiration here. This is why devotees still arrive from numerous countries in America, Europe, and Asia.
Traffic Plan Implemented for Devotee Convenience
Anticipating a large crowd on the anniversary, the Nainital district administration has implemented a special traffic plan from 8:00 AM on June 14th to 7:00 PM on June 15th. Vehicle movement on the Bhavali-Kechi Dham route will be strictly controlled during this period.
- Vehicles arriving from Kathgodam-Jyolikot will be diverted towards Quarb via Bhavali-Ramgarh-Nathuakhan.
- Vehicles coming from Haldwani to Bhimtal will be redirected towards Almora via Khutani-Dhanachuli.
- Vehicles traveling from Almora to Haldwani will be routed through Quarb-Nathuakhan-Ramgarh-Bhavali.
- SP City Dr. Jagdish Chandra stated that only vehicles involved in emergency or essential services will be permitted on the Kechi Dham route during this time.
Malpua Prasad to be Distributed for Three Days
Kechi Dham traditionally distributes Malpua Prasad, a sweet dish, during the anniversary celebrations. Given the expected crowds, this prasad will be distributed not only on June 15th but also on June 16th and 17th. This information was provided by ADM Vivek Rai. The aim is to ensure no devotee is deprived of the prasad while managing the crowds effectively.
Strict Crowd Control Measures
- The administration has devised a comprehensive plan to manage the crowd at the temple on June 15th.
- The SDM Dhari and the District Tourism Officer will be deployed at the main temple entrance.
- Only a limited number of devotees will be allowed entry into the temple at a time.
- New devotees will be admitted only after an equal number exit through the back door.
Appeal from the Administration and Temple Committee
The administration urges devotees to follow instructions and cooperate with security arrangements. The temple committee is ensuring all necessary provisions, including drinking water, healthcare facilities, prasad distribution, and sanitation.
