Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav instructed collectors to make concrete efforts to enhance health facilities in the state, address deficiencies, and ensure maximum benefits for Ayushman cardholders.
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has given clear instructions to officials to accelerate efforts to expand health facilities and address regional deficiencies. He engaged in a dialogue with collectors on the subject of health and nutrition, emphasizing the need to ensure that citizens of the state benefit from improved health services.
The Chief Minister specifically stressed providing full benefits to Ayushman cardholders and making medical facilities more accessible. He informed that more than 30 medical colleges are currently active in the state, and this number will soon reach 50.
Improving Quality of Health Services
CM Mohan Yadav stated that many new facilities have been introduced in the health sector, and full efforts are being made to address deficiencies. The state government is establishing new medical colleges and colleges under the PPP model in various districts.
He also mentioned that citizens in almost all districts of the state are benefiting from medical college facilities. In districts where the land allocation process is underway, it will be completed soon.
Emphasis on Health of Pregnant Women and Children
Principal Secretary Health Sandeep Yadav called for special attention to maternal and child health. He stated that under the Anemia Mukt Bharat (Anemia Free India) campaign, regular hemoglobin testing for infants, adolescent girls, and pregnant women should be ensured.
Under the Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (Maternal and Child Protection Program) and Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHSND), the focus is on quality testing, vaccination, and data entry. Emphasis was also placed on the timely identification of high-risk pregnant women and the necessity of safe deliveries under PMSMA (Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan).
Non-Communicable Diseases and Health Awareness to be Increased
Officials have been instructed to make screening for hypertension, diabetes, fatty liver, and cancer mandatory. Additionally, emphasis was placed on ensuring the availability of medicines in Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Health and Wellness Centers), and making campaigns like Eat Right, Fit India, Yoga, and other public awareness activities effective.
Emphasis is placed on effectively implementing schemes such as screening, medicine distribution, and pneumococcal vaccination for the eradication of syndromes like sickle cell and tuberculosis.
Successful Districts Share Experiences
During CM Mohan Yadav's meeting, districts with excellent performance shared their experiences. Balaghat presented on infant and maternal mortality rate control, Jhabua on health and nutrition improvement efforts, and Mandsaur on a comprehensive health model. Thus, concrete steps are being taken in the state to expand and improve health and nutrition services.
