PM Narendra Modi, after talks with Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, stated that India is a reliable partner in Mongolia's development. He emphasized strengthening the Buddhist-based spiritual connection and economic cooperation between the two countries.

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following extensive talks with Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa on Tuesday, stated that India is a firm and reliable partner in Mongolia's development. He also added that the relationship between India and Mongolia is not merely diplomatic but also possesses a deep spiritual connection.

Mongolian President Arrives for Four-Day India Visit

Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa arrived in New Delhi on Monday for a four-day visit to India. This marks his first official visit to India as President. During this visit, discussions are underway to further strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ukhnaa deliberated on several significant issues related to bilateral cooperation, economic partnership, cultural relations, and regional stability.

Spiritual Ties Between India and Mongolia

Following the talks, Prime Minister Modi stated that the relations between India and Mongolia are deeply rooted not only at strategic or economic levels but also spiritually. He said, “India and Mongolia have been bound by the principles of Buddhism for centuries. This is why we are called spiritual siblings.” PM Modi also announced that India would provide free e-Visa facilities to Mongolian citizens, which will promote tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries.

India's Role in Development

Prime Minister Modi stated that India has been a “firm and reliable partner” in Mongolia's development. He informed that an oil refinery project is being constructed in Mongolia with India's Line of Credit amounting to 1.7 billion US dollars. This project will significantly bolster Mongolia's energy security and enhance the country's economic self-reliance.

Cooperation in the Energy Sector

Cooperation in the energy sector between India and Mongolia is steadily growing. Besides the oil refinery project, both countries discussed deepening their partnership in renewable energy and mining sectors. This collaboration will not only be economically beneficial for Mongolia but also open up new opportunities for regional energy cooperation for India.
