Power supply will remain disrupted for approximately three hours in several areas of Muzaffarpur due to scheduled maintenance and pole shifting work linked to the Chakbullaha feeder, according to the department.

Shutdown for Maintenance and Pole Shifting

Officials from the electricity department stated that the shutdown has been scheduled to safely and smoothly complete necessary technical work. Power supply in neighbourhoods under the Chakbullaha feeder will be stopped from the designated morning time and restored after completion of the work.

Officials said old poles will be removed and shifted to new locations, and line repairs will be carried out in the affected area. In several places, the condition of wires had deteriorated, leading to repeated fault issues. The department said the step has been taken to provide a permanent solution. Pole shifting has also been described as necessary for road widening and improving traffic management. Officials stated that power supply will be more stable and uninterrupted after the work is completed.

Impact on Residential and Commercial Areas

Residential and commercial areas connected to the Chakbullaha feeder will face supply disruption. Alternative arrangements are being made to ensure that hospitals, water supply and other essential services are not affected. The electricity department has appealed to consumers to complete essential tasks in advance during the scheduled period and to keep electrical equipment secure. Supply will be restored immediately after the work is completed.

Officials stated that the temporary disruption is aimed at ensuring improved service in the future. The department team will attempt to complete the work within the scheduled time. In view of increasing electricity consumption and urban expansion in Muzaffarpur, such maintenance work is required from time to time. The department said efforts will be made to keep the shutdown period to a minimum to reduce inconvenience to the public.
