A wheat-laden container lost control near the Police Line cut on Sikar’s Silver Jubilee Road, broke through the divider and entered the opposite lane. The accident disrupted traffic on the main road for about two hours before the container was removed with a crane at around 11 pm and traffic was restored.
According to information, the container was carrying a wheat supply from Pilibanga to Sikar and was headed towards Sanwali Road. When it reached directly in front of the Police Control Room, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The heavy container then collided with the divider, broke through it and entered the opposite lane.
The impact caused a tyre to burst and damaged the container. The sound of the collision drew nearby residents to the spot, while traffic movement on Silver Jubilee Road was affected.
The damaged container remained in the middle of the road, increasing traffic pressure from the Police Line towards Bajrang Kanta and Kalyan Circle. Long queues of vehicles formed on the main road, disrupting traffic for about two hours.
After receiving information about the accident, Sikar Kotwal Sunil Jangid reached the spot on a motorcycle. Police assessed the situation and called a crane to remove the container from the main road. Relief and safety arrangements were put in place to clear the vehicle and restore traffic.
According to Kotwal Sunil Jangid, the container driver hit the divider in front of the Police Control Room, after which the vehicle crossed to the other side of the road. He said the situation could have been serious if a vehicle had been approaching from the opposite direction, but no vehicle was coming at that time.
The container driver also remained safe in the accident. Preliminary information indicated that the driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. However, this information was preliminary.
The container was loaded with sacks of wheat. The wheat had been brought from Pilibanga to Sikar and was to be unloaded on Sanwali Road. The container was travelling through the main route of Sikar city for the supply.
The accident affected the wheat supply after the container was damaged and came to a stop on the road. A crane was required to remove the vehicle. Police and relief arrangements remained at the spot during the process of removing the heavy vehicle.
After the accident, four fire brigades and one ambulance were called to the spot for safety and relief operations. The administration and police made necessary arrangements to deal with any potential emergency.
The presence of a crowd at the site also made it challenging to maintain traffic movement. Police continued efforts to clear the container and restore the movement of vehicles on the road.
A crane was used to remove the container from the main road. After considerable effort, the container was removed from the road at around 11 pm. Traffic was then restored on the main route, ending the disruption that had continued for about two hours.
The accident caused inconvenience to motorists travelling on Silver Jubilee Road. Traffic returned to normal after police action cleared the road.
The container driver remained safe, and there was no information of another vehicle being hit because no vehicle was approaching from the opposite direction at the time of the accident. Despite the container breaking through the divider and entering the opposite lane, no major accident occurred.
Preliminary information indicated that the driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Further information about the actual cause of the accident and the driver’s condition will become clear after the police investigation.
