Sultanpur Police Register FIRs Against Four Drug Agencies for Illegal Codeine Sales

Sultanpur police have registered FIRs against four drug agencies—Anees Medical Agencies, Vaishya Medical Store, Vaibhav Pharma, and Amar Pharmaceuticals—for the illegal sale, unlawful storage, and lack of records concern

Sultanpur police have registered a case against the operators of four drug agencies, who are accused of illegally selling codeine-containing syrups and capsules.

The agencies named in the case include Anees Medical Agencies, Vaishya Medical Store, Vaibhav Pharma, and Amar Pharmaceuticals.

Investigations were conducted against them in November this year. During the investigations, codeine-containing syrups and capsules were recovered from several locations, but no bills, receipts, or valid records related to the sale of these medicines could be produced.

Officials stated that these medical stores were found to be in violation of the law — because codeine-containing medicines are strictly for medicinal use and not for public/general sale.

FIRs have now been registered against the operators of these agencies, and further legal action is being taken against them, which includes charges of illegal sale of medicines, lack of records, and unlawful storage of restricted drugs.

This action is part of a broader campaign in which raids and FIR registrations have been intensified across the state to curb the illegal sale and distribution of codeine-containing syrups and other narcotic drugs.
