If you've watched the first two seasons of The Summer I Turned Pretty, the return of the third season could be a nostalgic experience for you. The show is back with its love triangle — Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah. But this time the matter is a little more serious because it's the final season, where the story will reach a final conclusion.
What's special in Season 3?
The third and final chapter of this series, based on Jenny Han's bestselling novel, has now begun. Belly is now in her senior year of college and is once again surrounded by her old confusion — whom should she choose, her first love Conrad, or the person who has stood by her side at every turn, Jeremiah?
In this season, the story seems to be maturing a bit, but the high school vibes are still present. Belly and Jeremiah are together at Finch University, but not everything is as perfect as it seems. On one hand, Jeremiah's graduation is put on hold, and on the other hand, Belly gets a study program in Paris. Meanwhile, Conrad is studying medicine at Stanford University.
The three meet again at Cousins Beach, where a dedication ceremony has been organized in memory of their mother, Susannah. And from here begins the series of old memories and unfinished conversations.
Will the love triangle end this time?
The special thing about this season of the show is that it is said to be inspired by the classic film Sabrina. But that kind of depth is not visible here. Belly is still stuck between two brothers, and the audience is waiting to see if this time she will choose herself first or if another emotional rollercoaster will be seen.
Many fans believe that it's time for the story to focus not just on the love triangle, but also on Belly's growth. And perhaps that's why this time the show has a total of 11 episodes, so that each character can get a little more space.
Acting, Music and Vibes
Lola Tung (Belly), Christopher Briney (Conrad) and Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah) are again in the lead roles. But like the previous season, the chemistry between these three doesn't quite work out this time either. Yes, the character that wins hearts again is Belly's mother, Laurel, played by Jackie Chung. She gives a balance and maturity to the show.
The music, cinematography and locations are of the same top quality as before. With the beach side house, modern look, and emotional songs, this show still connects well with the young audience.
