A tragic sequence of events unfolded in Daudpur Nevada village in Prayagraj after a road accident, leaving a family grieving the deaths of both a young son and his father within a short span of time. Shivam Yadav alias Sonu died after a speeding car collided with his motorcycle. When his father, Ram Singh, was informed about his son’s death, he collapsed in shock. Family members tried to revive him by sprinkling water on his face, but he did not respond. He was taken to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. According to doctors, he suffered a heart attack.
The deceased youth has been identified as Shivam Yadav alias Sonu. According to the report, he was returning home by motorcycle from the Sadhanganj side on Saturday night. Near the Sadhanganj-Kohran road, a speeding car coming from the opposite direction collided with his motorcycle. The impact was severe, leaving Shivam seriously injured.
People present nearby took him to a hospital for treatment. His condition remained critical, but he died during treatment at around 10 pm. The family was informed about the accident and his death, following which the household was plunged into mourning.
When Shivam’s father, Ram Singh, received the news of his son’s death, he went into deep shock and suddenly collapsed. Family members tried to lift him and sprinkled water on his face, but he showed no response. He was immediately taken to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Another report also stated that after hearing about his son’s death, Ram Singh collapsed while holding his chest. Doctors said he had suffered a heart attack. As a result, the family lost both father and son within a short period.
The deaths caused mourning across the village. When the bodies of the father and son reached the village on Sunday, a large number of villagers and people from nearby areas gathered for their last viewing.
According to the report, Ram Singh ran a breakfast shop in front of the Soraon tehsil and Shivam also helped him with the work. Both played an important role in meeting their families’ daily needs and contributing to their income. Their sudden deaths left the family facing both emotional grief and financial difficulties.
The car also overturned after the collision. According to police, the car driver fled the spot. After receiving information about the incident, police took the damaged car into custody and began searching for the driver. Police have registered a case against the unidentified car driver.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, as well as efforts to identify and arrest the fleeing driver. The speed of the vehicle and the circumstances that led to the collision are also being examined.
Local residents said accidents have occurred previously on the Sadhanganj-Kohran road because of speeding vehicles. Villagers have demanded the installation of speed breakers and increased police patrolling on the road. They said controlling vehicle speeds and increasing monitoring could help reduce such accidents.
After Shivam’s death, concerns over safety arrangements on the road have again been raised. A condolence meeting was also held in the village, where residents paid tribute to the deceased and demanded concrete steps from the administration on road safety.
