Bihar Cabinet Meeting 2025: A significant meeting of the Bihar cabinet took place on July 15, 2025, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. During the meeting, 30 important proposals were approved, including major decisions related to employment, education, the Patna Metro, and allowances for government employees. These decisions are considered very important for the state, keeping in mind the upcoming assembly elections and development plans in Bihar.
BLO (Booth Level Officers) and Supervisors to Receive a Honorarium of ₹6000
The state government has decided to provide a one-time honorarium of ₹6000 to BLOs (Booth Level Officers) and supervisors involved in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) work of the voter list. The cabinet approved ₹51 crore 68 lakh 40 thousand for this proposal. This will directly benefit the employees engaged in the task of updating the voter list.
Target of One Crore Jobs and Employment in Bihar
The Nitish Kumar government has set a target of creating 1 crore jobs and employment opportunities for the next 5 years (2025-2030). For this, the government has issued an order to form a 12-member high-level committee. This committee will advise on the employment policy in coordination with various departments of the state. The government believes that job creation will boost industrial activities, investment, and economic development.
Relief for Teachers and Non-Teaching Staff
Keeping the election year in mind, the Bihar government has provided significant relief to the teachers and non-teaching staff of aided secondary and higher secondary schools. An approval of ₹3 billion 94 crore 41 lakh has been given to improve the salary payments and the educational environment in these institutions. These are the institutions that previously came under the non-funded education policy.
Important Approvals for Patna Metro Project
The government has also taken a major step for the operation and maintenance of the Patna Metro. An approval of ₹179 crore 37 lakh has been given to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the maintenance of the priority corridor from August 2025 to March 2028. In addition, ₹21 crore 15 lakh has been approved for hiring a 3-car single trainset for 3 years for metro operations. These decisions are considered important for the smooth operation of the Patna Metro.
The state government has approved a 30% risk allowance on the basic salary for the personnel of the Bomb Disposal Squad. This allowance will be given every month, and in addition, the dearness allowance (DA) will be applicable separately. This decision will provide relief to those security personnel who are engaged in high-risk tasks.
