Ranchi-Ajmer Special Train Extended Till November, Santragachi-Ahmedabad Special Also Announced

Railway extends train 09619 Ajmer-Ranchi Special from October 2 to November 27 and train 09620 Ranchi-Ajmer Special from October 4 to November 29, while Santragachi-Ahmedabad Special trains 02834 and 02833 are scheduled for September.

Railway has extended the operating period of the Ranchi-Ajmer weekly special train to meet the increased travel demand during the festive season. The service will now operate through October and November, providing an additional travel option for passengers travelling between Jharkhand and Rajasthan during Durga Puja and other festivals.

According to information issued by the railway, train number 09619 Ajmer-Ranchi Special will operate from Ajmer to Ranchi every Friday from October 2 to November 27. In the return direction, train number 09620 Ranchi-Ajmer Special will run from Ranchi to Ajmer every Sunday from October 4 to November 29.

The weekly service in both directions will therefore remain available until the end of November.

Passenger numbers on trains generally increase during the festive season compared with normal days. Demand for seats on long-distance trains rises around festivals such as Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath. Travel between Jharkhand and Rajasthan and surrounding areas also increases during this period.

The extension of the special train service until the end of November provides passengers with an additional option for planning their journeys.

Passengers travelling from Rajasthan to Jharkhand will have the extended Ajmer-Ranchi service, while those travelling from Ranchi to Ajmer will have the weekly Sunday service.

The railway has also announced a special train between Santragachi and Ahmedabad. Train number 02834 Santragachi-Ahmedabad Special will depart from Santragachi at 12:15 am on September 20. The train will travel via Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela and Jharsuguda before reaching Ahmedabad on September 22.

The service will provide travel facilities to passengers from Jharkhand and West Bengal, particularly security personnel.

In the return direction, train number 02833 Ahmedabad-Santragachi Special will depart from Ahmedabad at 2:45 pm on September 22 and reach Santragachi on September 24.

One trip has been scheduled in each direction between Santragachi and Ahmedabad. The service is a special train operated for a specific purpose and is not a regular train service.

According to the railway, the Santragachi-Ahmedabad Special is being operated mainly to transport security personnel from Jharkhand and West Bengal to Gujarat for the National Unity Day parade.

For this reason, the train will operate for one trip in each direction. Its route includes major stations such as Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela and Jharsuguda.

The Ranchi-Ajmer Special has been extended with the festive-season passenger rush in mind. During this period, the railway faces increased passenger demand, while demand for seats on regular trains also rises.

Special trains provide additional travel options when passengers are unable to secure reservations on regular services.

Passengers travelling from Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad and surrounding areas to different parts of the country also increase during the festive period. The extension of the weekly special service between Jharkhand and Rajasthan provides an additional option for passengers travelling between the two regions.

Train number 09619 Ajmer-Ranchi Special will run every Friday from October 2 to November 27.

Train number 09620 Ranchi-Ajmer Special will run every Sunday from October 4 to November 29.

Passengers will therefore have the option of planning journeys on the service from October through the final week of November.

The railway also operates special trains on different routes during the festive season to address additional passenger demand on regular services. Continuing the Ranchi-Ajmer service until the final week of November gives passengers an opportunity to plan journeys in advance and book tickets according to available dates.

The Santragachi-Ahmedabad Special will also pass through key railway stations in Jharkhand and the surrounding region. After departing from Santragachi, the train will travel through Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela and Jharsuguda before proceeding towards Ahmedabad. The special service is being operated for the movement of security personnel.

The extension of the Ranchi-Ajmer Special provides an additional travel option during the festive season, while the Santragachi-Ahmedabad Special has been scheduled for a specific purpose with one trip in each direction.

Passengers planning to travel on the Ranchi-Ajmer or Ajmer-Ranchi Special should check the train number, travel date and reservation availability before finalising their journey. The Ajmer-Ranchi Special will operate every Friday from October 2 to November 27, while the Ranchi-Ajmer Special will operate every Sunday from October 4 to November 29. The Santragachi-Ahmedabad Special and its return service will also operate for one scheduled trip each in September.
